To my knowledge there are no dedicated vegan or vegetarian restaurants in Langkawi, however you can get a vegan meal or vegetarian restaurants at any number of restaurants - mostly Indian, Oriental, Chinese or or Arabic. As an example, Haroo has a vegetarian curry dish.

Haroo Restaurant is far superior to any restaurant in Langkawi. The beautiful Korean family are courteous and the food and service mangnificent and affordable. We ate there 5 times during our 7 day stay in Langkawi. We were so taken by the lovely family that owns it that we still stay in touch. I truly encourage anyone visiting Langkawi to visit Haroo Restaurant. Once you visit once, you'll go back for more.

I will stand by my HAROO recommendation. It is not a vegetarian restaurant per se, but there are at least 2 vegetarian entrees on the dinner menu, and the service is far superior and friendlier than most places in Pantai Cenang. re: TOMATO CAFE -I don't know if you went to the right Tomato Cafe - it is across the street from the beach and AB Motel(going away from the Aquarium). There is another Tomato cafe next to AB MOTEL (going towards the Aquarium), but it is a budget Indian affair. Maybe you went to the wrong place! In any case, I hope you're enjoying Langkawi Beach. Thank you very much for your recommendations!

Hello, I couldn't disagree more with the Haroo recommendation. I showed up and they said they didn't have much veggie food and the menu stated the same.

Tomato - I didn't try it but you'd have to be brave - it looks dodgy.

Oasis looks excellent, but we haven't got time to go there this trip.

My recommendations:

On Pantai Cenang there are lots of good places for veg food - but rarely are they pure veg and often serve meat as well. L'Osteria and the indian place beside it, Tulsi Garden, are great and only a very short taxi ride or walk.

Little Lysie's ChillOut Cafe is also excellent.
