I was reading an article about the best hotel values in the world in March edition of the Travel and Leisure magazine; according to a recent survey among their readers, believe it or not, Thailand placed four hotels in the overall top ten division, with the Sukhothai and the Peninsula Hotels in Bangkok placing #2 and #3 respectively. In the Asia category, Thailand boasted four out of the five hotels listed.

I have visited some of Thailand’s top hotels; whether or not they deserve their rankings, I really don’t know. I will go on record however, as declaring that Thailand in general definitely represents one the best vacation values in the world.

Personally I would be interested in a survey of the best values in nature lodges, boutique hotels and guesthouses in the world. More on this subject matter in a subsequent post.
