About Calypso Island Tours

Calypso Island Tours has been operating since March 1990; we specialize in botanical, garden and nature tours to such diverse tropical destinations as Costa Rica, Thailand and the Caribbean. In addition to our escorted group tours, we also offer a variety of itineraries and adventures for the independent traveler. Upon request, we can make special arrangements for custom itineraries whether it is be a 10-day tour of Costa Rica visiting biological reserves and national parks or a one-week resort vacation in Jamaica.

Our company is an advocate for sustainable tourism; as such we strongly believe that tourism if managed properly can have minimal impact on the environment and can contribute to the preservation of our woodland forests, coral reefs and the natural beauty of our remaining wilderness areas. In addition, tourism can provide tangible benefits for the indigenous communities that we come in contact with by offering them incentives to protect the environment. Furthermore, we patronize small locally owned hotels, local tour escorts and tour operators in the destinations we promote and we encourage meaningful exchange between our clients and the local people in the community.
